Thorp students excelling in sports

Two students from Thorp’s Sixth Form have been excelling in sports recently.

Artistic swimmer Sophie has been selected to be a part of the National World Series training squad – the World Series are the qualifying competitions you need to get through to get to the Olympics. Sophie has been asked to be a part of the training scheme. A great success for Sophie!

Rowing star Erin has submitted her 5k for GB trials and she is invited to a two day water assessment in Boston, Lincolnshire in February. In November, Erin won at Durham in a double with her friend Alice from DSBC. At the minute, Erin is focussed on her land training and completing her BTEC level 3 Diploma in Sporting Excellence so she is always busy! Erin works extremely hard, training from 2.30pm – 6.30pm on Mondays and Wednesdays (whilst completing all of her homework) and every day apart from Friday. Well done Erin!
